North House Folk SchoolArtisan Development Program: Cohort VIII

North House Folk School is a unique educational nonprofit committed to enriching lives and building community through the teaching of traditional northern crafts in a student-centered learning environment that inspires the hands, the heart and the mind.

The Artisan Development Program nurtures the growth of the next generation of traditional craft artisans. The program offers: a budget for professional development and mentorship; practice teaching; a living stipend; studio space; and regional, national, and international connections to institutions and artisans. Applicants with four or more years of work in craft are invited to apply. Note: This two-year program no longer requires full-time residency in Grand Marais. Housing and studio space are provided in Grand Marais during the first immersion year of the program; during the second independent study year of the program, participants are offered support to pursue their learning goals in a location of their choosing.

Program Dates: September 2024 - June 2026 (22 months)

Application deadline: Monday, April 1, 2024 at noon CST
