Russell Hartley
Communications Coordinator
Russell has over nine years of professional communications and marketing experience working in nonprofits and government. Before Crafting the Future, he worked in the nonprofit sector where he focused on digital inclusion, digital equity, and connecting under-resourced communities to the resources they need to thrive. He has experience leading digital storytelling campaigns, email marketing, managing social media strategies, and developing blogposts and website content.
Prior to his work with nonprofits, Russell held communications positions at state- and city-level government agencies in California and Texas. He recently served as a communications director in the California State Assembly where he worked on legislation relating to advancing social justice policies, increasing civic engagement, and expanding access to higher education. Russell holds a Masters of Science (M.S.) in Communication from Grand Valley State University which is where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in health communications.
